The capital of Mauritania and the capital of driving chaos!! Almost no car is damage free and barely any care is UK street legal, the only saviour for Mr Orange is the size and in Africa size determines status on the road.
Spent one day in the city, not much to see in the city except a very dirty and smelly market place. On the coast there are beach resorts but these we did not explore.
On our way out we managed to create a traffic jam, blindly following our satnav through the narrow streets around the market and managed to stop traffic for about 10 minutes much to the delight of local traders and not so much delight for other drivers. But this is Africa so it all works out in the end.
